Intergroups & Central Offices
Intergroups provide local services to and are
financially supported by the A.A. groups in the communities they serve. Intergroups are not affiliated with the Virginia Area
Committee. Each Intergroup is autonomous and provides only those services
that the local groups want it to provide. Some
of the services that an Intergroup might provide are:
 |
Receiving, arranging and following up on
Twelfth Step calls. |
 |
Maintaining a phone watch to provide local
A.A. meeting information. |
 |
Publishing a meeting directory. |
 |
Providing information on A.A. to the
general public. |
 |
Distributing A.A. Conference-approved
literature. |
 |
Establishing local Public Information and
other committees to carry A.A.'s message of hope and recovery from
alcoholism. |
