A.A. Meetings
These pages list information on meetings of
Alcoholics Anonymous held throughout the Commonwealth. Each A.A. Group is
autonomous and decides whether its meeting(s) are listed on these pages.
The general format of these group listings are: The time of day is listed
only once; all groups meeting at that time are listed in alphabetical
order. The first line is the group name; the second line is the facility
where it meets; the third line is the facility address; and the fourth line is
information on the meeting (See below for some explanations).
To find a meeting:

This page lists the days of the week
across the top of the page. Click on the day of the
week you are interested in.

Next, this page lists all towns in Virginia
that have a meeting on the day selected. Click
on the town you are interested in.

All the meetings that have been given to
the VAC Webteam are displayed.
Example: You are interested in attending an
open speakers meeting in Alexandria on Monday evening: click on Meeting Listings
by Day / Town, click on Monday, click on Alexandria, then scroll through the list
until you find an open speakers meeting in the evening. Please remember
that there is no guarantee that you'll find the type of meeting you're looking
for. Investigate nearby towns on the same night or look at the same town
on another night for the type of meeting you want.
Some explanations:

Closed - open only to alcoholics. |

Open - open to anyone interested in the Alcoholics Anonymous program of recovery. |

Beginners - emphasis on
topics of interest to those young in recovery. |

Big Book - reading and/or discussion
from the book Alcoholics Anonymous. |

Discussion - participation in a
discussion of topics relevant to the A.A. program. |

Speaker - A. A. members sharing their
personal stories of active alcoholism and recovery in the A.A. program. |

Step/Traditions - discussion of A.A.'s
Twelve Steps and/or Twelve Traditions. |

Men or women only - open only to the
designated sex. |

Smoking policy - most Virginia A.A.
meetings are non-smoking. Smoking meetings are so designated. If
there is no designation, the meeting is probably non-smoking. |

Handicapped-accessible - accessible to
wheelchairs. If there is no designation, the meeting is probably not
wheelchair-accessible. |
